چکیده
This study aimed to optimize the preparation condition of activated carbon using Teff straw as a precursor material via evaluating its potential in terms maximizing adsorptive removal Reactive Yellow 145 dye (RY 145) from aqueous solutions. Selective factors, such activation time, temperature, and impregnation ratio on Straw-based Activated Carbon (TSAC) were optimized response surface methodology (RSM). A quadratic regression model with estimated coefficients was developed by RSM it observed that predictions matched experimental value an acceptable R2 (0.98). Further, TSAC prepared at optimal characterized Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. The showed anionic nature BET area 627.7 m2/g. In addition, important parameters (contact solution pH, adsorbent dose, concentration) evaluated through batch experiments. way, determined 2 h for 539 °C 5 g phosphoric acid per 1 efficient adsorption maximum 98.53% RY dye. subjected test order determine performance treating real textile industry effluent examining Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) potential. results 76% COD removed effluent, which met Ethiopian Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) standard. finding this paper asserts is good low-cost bio-sorbent can be used pollutants wastewater. Nevertheless, additional investigations adsorbents including regeneration options are advisable draw explicit conclusions.

The ability of activated carbon produced from coconut shell to remoe mercury Hg (II), Lead Pb (II) and Copper Cu (II) from dye effluent was investigated. The activated carbon was produced through chemical activation processes by using zinc chloride (ZnCl2). The adsorption capacity was determined as a function of adsorbent dosage. The adsorption Isotherms of the studied metals on adsorbent were ...
متن کاملOptimization of Tea Waste Activated Carbon Preparation Parameters for Removal of Cibacron Yellow Dye from Textile Waste Waters
Waste from tea, a beverage globally consumed is a common menace discarded to the environment thereby contributing to environmental pollution. The textile and paper industries have also been major culprits in the pollution of the environment through their indiscriminate discharge of dye solutions. These dyes are carcinogenic, mutagenic, and generally harmful to the entire eco-system; this has po...
